DIY: Damask Lanterns

With some leftover puffy paint from my masquerade project, I did a bit of research online for other fun crafts using this wonderful 3-dimensional paint. I came across an idea for making lanterns out of mason jars with damask detailing. I  liked the exotic henna-like design that really jazzed up a plain jar or candle holder.

The lanterns compliment any room environment and are very easy to make!

What you’ll need:

  • Mason jar/ any clear container (i also decorated two candle holders)
  • Puffy Paint (Recommend: Tulip brand)
  • Sharpie marker                                                                                                                                                                                  puffyjar1
  1. Wash the mason jar and wipe dry.
  2. Using the Sharpie marker, draw your design onto the jar surface.                                                                                                  puffyjar2
  3. Go over the drawn lines with puffy paint and allow to dry overnight.                                                                                                                               puffyjar3
  4. Tea-light candles seem to work best in the mason jar but you can include whatever candle you like inside.                                                                                                                                              puffyjar5
