I’ve always thought of the sugar cookie as sort of the boring variety in the world of biscuits. A simple combination of butter, sugar and flour with no real exciting flavors. However, over the past few weeks I’ve been baking dozens and dozens of sugar cookies. I’ve discovered that although they are simple cookies, they can be iced and decorated to be exciting treats that everyone will enjoy. In order to raise money for the Run for the Cure here in Vancouver, I made a batch of heart-shaped cookies and decorated them with sexy lingerie designs. They were very well received and helped boost my fundraising efforts for the Breast Cancer cause.
I also started a new job earlier this month and made sweetheart conversation cookies as a goodbye treat to recount the good times I had at my old workplace.
Just as my old coworkers received a batch of cookies, my new coworkers would as well.
My boyfriend advised that I needed to make “Rookie Cookies” for my new work place. I decided to stick to sugar cookies as I felt like I had become somewhat of an expert now and made a batch of iced Marvel superhero cookies with cookie cutters from William Sonoma. My coworkers loved how fun they were. They must’ve lasted about 20 minutes before the container was empty.
